Rep. Cody Smith, a Republican, represents part of Jasper County (District 163) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2016 and re-elected in 2018.
In addition to his legislative duties, Smith owns a company that uses technology to prevent infectious diseases from spreading in healthcare facilities. Additionally, he has been a member of the National Association of Realtors for 11 years and has spent that time in the small business world successfully helping companies develop and grow.
Smith is the current president of the Carthage Tree Board and serves on the Carthage Planning and Zoning Variance Committee. He also is a member of the following organizations: Carthage, Carl Junction and Webb City Chambers of Commerce; Rotary Club International; Lions Clubs International; National Rifle Assoc.; NFIB; Sigma Pi Fraternity International.
Smith is a graduate of Carthage High School and studied business at Missouri Southern State University.
A lifelong Jasper County resident, Smith resides in Carthage with his wife, Jana, and son, Charlie.
