Stan May is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 80. He assumed office on November 21, 2018, and his current term will conclude on November 18, 2026.
May is a former firefighter with more than 30 years of service. During his time with the Tulsa Fire Department, May traveled to Joplin, Mo., in 2011 and to Moore in 2013 to assist after devastating tornadoes. He served as president of the Tulsa Firefighters Local 176 for two years and retired from Tulsa Fire as the public information officer in 2021.
He was elected Chair of the House Republican caucus in 2022 and was reelected to the position in 2024.
Originally from Kansas, May graduated from Southern Nazarene University and Rhema Bible Training College. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three children and several grandchildren.
