Adrián González Costa was born in San Juan on May 3, 1983, the youngest of three siblings. He studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and later obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the Interamerican University School of Law, becoming an attorney in 2010. During his early years in the profession, he participated in various programs in disadvantaged communities and focused his practice on defending the rights of students enrolled in the Department of Education’s Special Education Program. In 2013, he began his career in public service as an advisor to the Spokesperson for the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP) in the Senate, María de Lourdes Santiago. From that position, he has collaborated with multiple entities and communities in the defense of education, the environment, equity, and the right to a better quality of life. At the same time, he served as the PIP Spokesperson in the San Juan Municipal Legislature, a position he held until 2017. In January 2017, he began serving as the main advisor to the PIP Spokesperson in the Senate, attorney Juan Dalmau Ramírez, and was later appointed Alternate Electoral Commissioner for the PIP. In 2021, when he returned to the Senate as Director of the Office of Senator María de Lourdes Santiago, he focused his legislative work on educating communities and educational centers about the effects of Law 22 and Law 60. In 2024, he ran for the Senate of Puerto Rico for the District of San Juan and, in January 2025, he was sworn in as Senator for the Puerto Rican Independence Party, serving as the Alternate Spokesperson for said collective.
