The representative for District 2, Jorge Luis Navarro Suárez, was born on July 8, 1964, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He studied in the Puerto Rico public school system and completed higher education at University Gardens School.

Later, he studied Banking, finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Finance from the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón Campus.

Jorge, who is the son of the late Puerto Rican politician, Georgie Navarro and Nitza Suárez, is the second of 5 children. He always excelled in sports and played basketball throughout his college student life.

Later he worked in private companies, as a manager in the Pueblo supermarket chain and was a special assistant to the then Secretary of Commerce, Juan F. Woldroff, collaborating on labor impact projects such as Vale Empleo, among others. Also, he was deputy director of the federal business program attached to the Development Bank, Minority Business Opportunity of Commerce, helping small businesses achieve optimal business development.

In 2004, Jorge won the general elections for District 5 San Juan – Guaynabo 6, thus reaching the Legislature. He was born and raised in Precinct 5 of San Juan, which he knows perfectly. In the 2008 elections he revalidated as Representative of the San Juan 5 and Guaynabo 6 District.

Navarro has always seen public service as a vocation of love and respect for the people. Jorge is a man of convictions and high goals. Outside the Legislature, Jorge is a simple man, father, fan of sports and nature.
