Omayra Milagros Martínez Vázquez was born on November 17, 1977 in the municipality of Mayagüez and grew up between the municipalities of Sabana Grande and Maricao. Thanks to his training in the public education system, he has stood out for his analytical capacity and his ability to solve problems.

Her love for science and the environment led her to study a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Biology at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus, where she obtained this degree with the Cum Laude distinction. This same dedication allowed him to achieve the degree of Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice, awarded by the Ana G. Méndez University System, where he obtained the highest academic distinction, Summa Cum Laude.

On a professional level, Martínez Vázquez has served in recent years as Regional Supervisor for the Aguadilla Region in the Voucher Program for Free Housing Selection, better known as Section 8. In addition, he has extensive experience in the private sector, having worked for more than 10 years in the area of Financial Institutions, such as banks and cooperatives.

Her work for the well-being of the communities of the southwest area has stood out throughout her career in public service, where she served as Municipal Legislator of the Municipality of Sabana Grande from 2013 to 2024.

On November 5, 2024, she was elected as Representative for District Number 21, which includes the municipalities of Guánica, Las Marías, Lajas, Maricao, Sabana Grande and Yauco. She was appointed to chair the Housing and Urban Development Commission.
